Introduction
Good day!I am posting several topics, and I think we need to take a break. So I am about to share my driving experience with a variety of vehicles. The first car is TOYOTA CAMRY hybrid 2018. I drove this car when I traveled to Japan. I and my family are satisfied with this car, calm (over silent), good fuel efficiency, and pretty appearance.
This is my opinion, I want you to feel free to read this post.

Car review
I droved about 500km, and it was the first time that I drive a hybrid car. this car was really calm. even though I pushed the start button twice because I didn't realize that it is already on. Also, fuel efficiency is really good. in spite of driving 500km, half of the fuel tank still left. half of the fuel price was 330$.
Highway driving, I was satisfied. Acceleration and agility of the vehicle are fine though maximum speed was 180km (I thought it because of Japan's transportation law).
LKAS, idle stop and go, and other driving assist functions gave me comfort.

I heard Japanese cars are conservative, so they don't have electrical functions to reduce quality problems. after I experience this car, it was an ancient story. Toyota also tries to apply many functions to give passenger comfort. NVH quality is ok like Lexus. I thought if they sell these cars in Korea cheaper than now, maybe Grandeur and Sonata would be hard and suffer from Camry. they sell Camry too expensive in Korea. Toyota hybrid system has a power split device, so I heard the efficiency is kinda bad, but actually I couldn't feel it is bad fuel efficiency. I think I need to drive a GM hybrid car or a Honda hybrid car.
what about Function safety?
As many electrical functions include, functional safety is necessary. most of the functions are controlled by control units. It means engineers must consider avoiding random hardware failures and systematic failures of its systems. For example, LKAS, while the vehicle drives high speed, it is activated(over 50km/h). but, what if LKAS is stuck, malfunction, the driver will get in trouble. Traditional (without LKAS) vehicle does not think about this problem, however, the vehicle contains cutting edge technology we must consider functional safety. LKAS get some controllability from a driver in some conditions. I don't know if I can control over LKAS interlude my driving. If not, engineers will get a headache so much.
